GCSE Results 2023

Overview and summary from the Head Teacher Mr Howells:

The number of students studying in the sixth form at Archbishop Mcgrath Catholic High school from September is set to exceed all previous records thanks to the excellent GCSE results achieved by the Year 11 class of 2023.

Headteacher Ashley Howells said “Our year 11 pupils have achieved some outstanding results with almost 1100 A*, A, B and C grades awarded this summer. The results reflect the ethos and inclusive learning environment that our school provides and this has resulted in 100% of our Year 11 cohort achieving at least 5 GCSE grades.”

Mr. Howells added ‘This year group have coped brilliantly with the challenges they have faced over the last five years and the results they have achieved are testament to the determination and resilience shown during this period. Whilst the majority will be continuing their education in our sixth form, others will be taking on the challenge of work-based training and vocational courses. We wish them every success on the next part of their journeys. We know they will be excellent ambassadors for our school.’

Mr. Howells concluded by saying ‘Results such as those achieved by our pupils this year are only possible with the support provided by our families and the input from our brilliant team of staff. As always, by working together, we have been able to maximise the life chances of our learners.’
